POSITION TITLE:  Sr Estimator

LOCATION:   Beaumont, Texas 

SUMMARY:   Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to comprehend the scope, materials, labor and equipment needed for industrial projects.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cost Estimation: Utilize historical data, industry knowledge, and estimation software to accurately forecast costs for materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses accurately
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure accurate estimations
  • Vendor and Supplier Relations: Interact with suppliers and vendors to acquire competitive pricing for materials and equipment, establishing and maintaining relationships to obtain the best possible rates
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and uncertainties impacting project costs and propose mitigation strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness
  • Documentation: Prepare comprehensive and detailed cost estimates, including breakdowns of various project components, assumptions, and contingencies
  • Bid Proposal Support: Assist in preparing bid proposals by providing accurate cost estimates to support the bidding process
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and technological advancements to enhance estimation accuracy and efficiency
  • Travel to bid locations to establish accurate cost estimate forecasts


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8 years of proven experience in industrial estimation within the construction/mechanical services
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Cost Professional)
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., RSMeans, CostWorks, Bluebeam, etc.) is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex project documents
  • Adeptness in managing multiple specialized projects and meeting strict deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet strict deadlines
  • Sound understanding of industrial processes, materials, and construction techniques
