COMPANY OVERVIEW:   Our client is one of the largest privately held industrial services companies operating in Canada and the United States. 

POSITION:  Safety Manager

COMPENSATION:   Competitive salary + DOE

LOCATION:   Kingsport, TN

SUMMARY:   Develops, plans, organizes, coordinates and monitors safety programs to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations, company and client policies and procedures. This position reports to the Site Manager.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs, develops, communicates, and implements the project’s strategic goals in alignment with the project leadership team and client, develops HSE leading indicators and performance metrics
  • Investigates accidents to determine causes; prepares reports of investigations for use in recommendation of preventive measures and the development of safety programs
  • Inspects worksites; prepares reports with recommendations for corrective actions
  • Supports project leadership team to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Provides/develops technical safety training; conducts safety training
  • Assists in development and implementation of systems and standards
  • Assesses safety and health program performance; identifies trends through data analysis
  • Communicate and manage information to client and other third parties.
  • Develops, plans, organizes, coordinates and monitors safety programs to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations, company and client policies and procedures
  • Build, grow and maintain a strong HSE team to support the project
  • Manages HSE programs for compliance and employee training
  • Company HSE representative for site client meetings
  • Any other duties assigned by the Corporate HSE Manager or Site Manager


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years as project EHS Leader (associated degree / certification preferable, CHST, OHST, ASP, CSP) leading site safety teams
  • HS graduate or equivalent, higher education/certifications preferred
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams
  • Ability to use and interface with various other online based technical programs for Safety
  • Construction and Maintenance experience necessary
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated experience in building relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
