Inventory & Logistics Coordinator (at Poursteady)

Poursteady is a growing, Brooklyn-based manufacturer of commercial equipment for the specialty coffee industry. We are seeking a highly competent person to help manage the inventory and logistics of our small and growing business. An ideal candidate is a developing professional with true interest in our product, our culture, and the growth of our company.
We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented person who can help improve our inventory tracking systems. Some aspects of the role would include weekly inventory counts, inventory ordering and coordination, receiving, database management, domestic and international shipping, etc. This person would report directly to the Director of Operations and would gain experience in operating and working in an expanding company.
An ideal candidate has previous experience managing inventory and will help us reduce our inventory costs over time and set up automations that improve our systems and impact the whole business.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Inventory Tracking & Management
- Improve our inventory tracking through our current database (SOS Inventory Tracking)
- Account for inventory on a weekly basis
- Communicate out inventory needs and lead times to affected departments
- Work with Operations, Manufacturing, and Sales Teams on ordering efficiently while keeping a lean inventory
- Receive all inventory onto shelves and into database
- Balance manufacturing needs with lean inventory principles
Quality Control
- Set up and manage a QC process
- Quality check all incoming parts for damages upon arrival
- Perform quality tests on electronic components
- Occasional Machine Testing
Logistics
- Some customer-facing tasks like sharing tracking numbers, confirming shipments, etc.
- Manage, maintain, and enhance relevant spreadsheets and systems
- Manage shipping logistics for small and large orders, including preparing basic sub-assemblies, pack machines and palletize orders
- Set up and manage barcode scanning & relevant tracking
- Make and ship SD Cards and other spare parts to customers autonomously, manage spare parts requests autonomously
- Improve our logistics systems with automation
Other
- General computer literacy. Comfortable with GSuite is a must. Please list databases you’ve worked with in your reply.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs from ground to table, and 25lbs from table to shelf while standing on a step ladder, without assistance.
- Knows how or willing to learn how to use a pallet jack

- Have excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence, values tolerance, and expects the same from the people you work with
- Lives in NYC and can reliably commute to Gowanus
- Likes coffee is a big plus!

Working at Poursteady
- 30-day trial period before full benefits are offered
- Salary: $55,000 – $60,000
- This is a full-time position slated for 40 hours/week. Our business is open 10am-6pm Monday-Friday
