Description
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping the production facility in good working condition. This role involves identifying potential workplace hazards, offering solutions and making repairs to the workspace. This role also includes coordinating repairs, supply orders and outside contractors with the Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a daily routine for facility maintenance: Air Compressor start up and shut down (as backup for CNC Operator), Beginning of day facility check, End of day facility check
  • Compress cardboard waste using the bailer
  • Take garbage down to loading dock daily, document and report any instances of neighboring tenants putting trash into our container
  • Daily Tumbler production processing
  • Daily Tumbler room maintenance
  • Daily Polishing room maintenance
  • Ensuring bathrooms and plumbing fixtures are working properly. Identifies and alerts the proper channel if repairs are required
  • Organization and inventory of tools and storage
  • Coordinate intra-office moves
  • Allocate and manage facility space for maximum efficiency
  • Maintain good standing with punctuality, Attendance, and time sheet responsibilities
  • Required to pass the A-35 Certificate of Fitness exam within 90 days of employees’ start date
  • Start up and shut down of air compressor and dust collection system
  • Cardboard disposal
  • Assist Shipping and Receiving department with loading and unloading deliveries
  • All employees should be aware that from time to time the necessity may arise where they may be asked to assist where needed should priorities change

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in facility maintenance or similar occupation
  • High school diploma or associate degree
  • Spanish language skills are a plus
  • OSHA certification is a plus
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Effectively investigate and solve problems
  • Proactive and independent thinker, able to take initiative and work efficiently with little direction
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to Operate warehouse machinery

Work Environment

  • The physical demands that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job include frequent standing, walking, and using hands.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
