POSITION TITLE: Estimator

SUMMARY:
The Estimator oversees all cost analysis of the project and is responsible for co-ordination and completion of the project and to this end will perform a variety of tasks. Tasks include analyzing drawings, specifications, and addenda, setting deadlines, establishing schedules, procuring materials, tools & equipment, and monitoring and documenting progress of the project. The Estimator may be responsible for more than one project at a time.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare Insulation, Painting, Fireproofing and Scaffolding cost estimates for Industrial Customers from scope of work, drawings, and specifications.
  • Communicate with subcontractors, material and equipment suppliers and internal team members as needed to properly prepare a complete cost estimate.
  • Communicate with Customer for missing information or unclear scope of work.
  • Understand scope of work to bid, identify and document bid clarifications as required.
  • Ensure timely completion of estimates.
  • Prepare estimate documents and present estimates for internal review.
  • Follow up with Customers after bid submittal.
  • Work within organization standards
  • Maintain bid documentation.
  • Prepare turnover information for Operations if bid is awarded.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-5 years of experience in industrial soft crafts – Corrosion, Industrial Scaffolding, Coatings & Fireproofing.
  • Able to read and understand engineered drawings, plans, isometrics, and technical specifications.
  • Able to determine quantities by reviewing pipe, steel, or equipment drawings.
  • Strong understanding of industrial construction processes.
  • Proficiency with Outlook, MS Word, and Excel.
  • Previous experience with MS Project is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
