SUMMARY: The Director, Business Development will be responsible for leading the business development strategy for in the United States, targeting growth with existing clients and new clients. The primary goal is to increase market share within industrial facilities along the U.S. Gulf Coast. The Director, Business Development will report directly to the Vice President, Business Development and will work collaboratively with Operations management.
DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Together with Vice President of Business Development, identify potential customers along the Gulf Coast, construct plans of attack to capture their business, and successfully obtain service agreements to perform work,
- Collaborate with the rest of the executive team to develop, implement, and execute strategy.
- Develop and nurture successful long-term client relationships by demonstrating value delivered and innovative solutions.
- Expand our service offering to existing clients.
- Develop new relationships that are key to growing both our maintenance / turnaround business and our power operations business.
- Grow our presence into targeted geographies.
- Track client opening and middle game positioning plans, win plans, and follow through working collaboratively with Operations.
- Develop and recommend pricing/contracting/risk mitigation strategies for all proposals using sound business acumen.
- Track and report on key pursuits to Operations.
- Assist in tracking competitors’ trends and advantages to ensure we understand where we need to defend.
- Understand market and client trends and keep Operations apprised.
- Travel as required to support business objectives.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10 years of business development, operations, marketing and/or business management experience in the industrial service industry.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Existing network and proven and strong relationships with diverse client bases across the Gulf Coast.
- Must be computer savvy, particularly with all Microsoft Office software.
- Analytical thinker with ability to manage large amounts of data.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Passion for and commitment to safety.
- Thrives on a challenge and is willing to step out of comfort zone.
- Willing and able to think outside the box.
