POSITION TITLE: General Manager 

COMPENSATION: Competitive Salary + DOE

BENEFITS: Standard package

LOCATION: Houston, TX

SUMMARY: The Chief Operating Officer (COO) responsibilities span a broad spectrum, covering all the areas operations from Banking, Bonding, Bidding, Winning, and Execution of all projects from field activities for their projects Project Planning, Cost Management, Time Management, Quality Management, Contract Management, Safety Management and shall be responsible for the overall coordination and management of corporate operations. The COO shall provide management and direction to Regional Directors (RD), Project Managers (PM), and Site Superintendent (SS) assigned to the construction project sites and shall keep President and CEO informed as to construction personnel requirements, scheduled release dates, and field execution issues requiring resolution. The COO technically and administratively manages coordination and symmetry of all corporate operations.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide detailed leadership in overseeing the developing work plans and execution strategies to ensure that proposals include the appropriate experience input.
  • Reviews and approves subcontractors and vendors.
  • Directs RDs and PMs to review and read all project/owner/client requirements and contract documents; Oversees reviews and training of site execution team thoroughly on all project aspects.
  • Ensures Execution Team has a thorough understanding of the scope for specific trades assigned.
  • Directs Engineering Support Services and site management to develop RFI’s, Submittals, Transmittals and required plans.
  • Leads development and identification of risk-based scopes/activities during development of the risk management strategy.
  • Directs the RDs, PMs & RMs on staffing and equipment assignments to the project.
  • Ensuring RDs, PMs, Superintendents and Foremen know the client/owner expectations, plans and specifications.
  • Serve as a key link with the clients and review all deliverables prepared by the team before passing onto client.
  • Promote and sustain Estimating & BD involvement with client throughout construction.
  • Reviews, forecasts and tracks production, costs and revenue on the provided documents and works with RDS & their Project Controls Specialists to enter correctly.
  • Consistently follows up on submitted bids and budgets with Engineer, Owner and/or Construction Manager to close business.
  • Works to closeout projects correctly and effectively, ensuring timely release of retainage and final payment.
  • Monitor and correctly report project progress throughout its duration to senior management and staff through reports and presentations.
  • Perform detailed and constructive employee reviews for all assigned personnel.
  • Create the teams, develop the objectives/goals of each and assign individual responsibilities.
  • Travel to pre-bid meetings, publication of notes, pictures, and strategy within the project capture team
  • Potential for 15 to 30 days travel per month, dependent on project needs and performance.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10-12 years of Industry experience
  • Demolition and environmental remediation services required.  
  • Great detailed leadership in overseeing the developing work plans and execution strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must know Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • HCSS – Heavy Bid and Heavy Job
  • MS Projects, Primavera/Sure Track
  • Must be self-motivated & punctual.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects and have excellent follow up skills both internally and externally.
  • Must be professional and polished in appearance (for the task at hand) and speech.
