Accountant
COMPANY OVERVIEW: Our client is an international presence by providing complete door-to-door services up to and including final erection of heavy and extra-heavy project components world-wide, including the industry of modularized items.
POSITION: Accountant

LOCATION: Friendswood, Texas
SUMMARY: Directly lead team handling Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Bookkeeping.
DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality processes for the people under your control
- Ensure adherence of accounting policies.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential and maintaining financial security by adhering to internal controls
- Ensure employees are paid correctly and on time, and all associated processes are in place and compliant (filing, benefits, on-boarding, termination).
- Ensure customer invoices are produced correctly and as soon as possible after project completion and payments are collected on time.
- Fixed asset administration, tracking, and depreciation
- Assist with State and Federal filings and compliance reporting
- Assist with customer and other compliance audits
- Assist with monthly close processes, journal entries, account reconciliation, financial report preparation and review
- Understand all accounting team tools and processes in detail and ensure all data entry processes under your control are being conducted correctly.
- uses QuickBooks as the main ERP. This may change and the Accounting Supervisor will assist with the transition when this takes place.
- As leader of the accounting team, conduct regular meetings and create a productive and open communication environment.
- The Accounting Supervisor may be tasked with administering some small entities within the group
- Strive to improve its processes continuously
- Report on any improvement ideas to Finance Manager
- Assist regional and project administrator to ensure information is entered into systems correctly and timely
- Provide training where necessary and as agreed with the Finance Manager
- Assist Finance Manager with tasks upon request
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years’ experience in accounting/finance
- Preferably has worked in a contracting environment
- Experience with Accounts payable, Accounts receivable, Payroll and Financial Reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- QuickBooks or similar ERP proficiency
- Highly skilled in MS Excel
- Effective communicator
- Problem Solving
- Time management and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
