POSITION TITLE: Business Development Manager

SUMMARY:The Business Development Rep is a result driven, problem solving, strategic business partner who best represents the services by understanding the needs of the customer and implementing strategies to exceed their expectations in Petrochemical/Refining Industry.
DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Update and maintain CRM (Salesforce) by adding prospect & customer data timely and assembling all prospect, customer & market information on any upcoming & existing opportunities
- Learn and articulate capabilities, company history and our value proposition to effectively present both in meetings and thorough PowerPoint presentations
- Possess extensive industrial plant relationships in Baton Rouge, Geismar and surrounding areas allowing for in-person meetings in local industrial facilities
- Plan and coordinate proactive business development activities to provide updates on both corporate and branch levels
- Provide assistance with evaluating presentations, proposals, brochures and other collateral materials to ensure they are current and of value to prospective customers
- Attend job walks, site visits, safety meetings and other plant-related meetings when necessary
- Secure master agreements & terms & conditions from prospects allowing us to qualify as a contractor and work in their facilities
- Consistently focus on customer relationship strategies via attending industry events, association meetings, client entertainment events, etc
- Keep the management team fully informed on all aspects of our prospects and customer’s needs and requirements
- Perform all necessary research to identify and prioritize prospects, customers, and industry trends in the market
- Participate in the planning and strategy to ensure our goals and KPI’s are a stretch, reasonable and on track
- Maintain and leverage the relationships with other departments, other contractors and EPCs and local engineering firms to assist in growing our business through partnerships and networking
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in industrial sales with existing plant relationships in the Baton Rouge, Geismar and surrounding markets.
- Associate or bachelor’s Degree (Business, Sales/Marketing, Construction/Engineering) preferred or industrial sales experience in lieu of a degree.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Previous sales experience with industrial services, equipment sales or soft crafts are a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to work independently.
- Basic knowledge of construction, negotiation, understanding of contract terms & conditions.
- Basic Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SalesForce, IIR).
- Willing to travel (25-35% mostly in the territory).
- Organizational awareness- be able to understand prospect’s organizational structure, decision making processes, and who has the capacity to offer new opportunities.
