COMPANY OVERVIEW:  Our client has expanded metal, perforated metal, wire mesh, all thread, nuts, bolts, and many other products which allow us to meet the emergency needs that arise in the petrochemical industry.

POSITION:  Fabrication Estimator

COMPENSATION:  Competitive salary + DOE

LOCATION:  Texas City, Texas

SUMMARY:  
Prepares metal fabrication quotations by analyzing requests for quote requirements, technical drawings and associated specifications.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Compute costs by identifying materials, purchased items, fabrication processes and time requirements using established rate table per blueprints, specifications, and related documents Solicits and collects material costs
  • Identifies optimal material utilization and fabrication methods
  • Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information
  • Regularly review Job Costings to establish accuracy of estimates and estimating process
  • Be able to analyze blueprints, bills of quantities and other project documentation in order to estimate costs
  • Be able to research, source, and negotiate to obtain the best prices and quotes from suppliers and contractors
  • Be able to analyze data that can affect costs such as daily fluctuations in material costs, freight, and treatments pertinent to the job
  • Be proficient in CAD
  • Broad knowledge of types of metal, and equipment necessary to complete the job
  • Keep detailed records
  • Be able to converse with customers


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of Industrial Metal Fabrication Estimating
  • Extensive metal fabricating blueprint reading and the ability to interpret and analyze specifications and tolerances
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication skills to interact with Customers, Suppliers, and co-workers
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication processes
