POSITION: Chief Financial Officer
COMPENSATION: Competitive salary + DOE

LOCATION: Baton Rouge, LA
SUMMARY: Direct the preparation of the financial reporting and create Company forecasts. This role reports directly to the CEO. The position requires this individual to provide operational analysis, strategic insight, and tactical financial support. Experience in the construction industry with the skill set and attributes to provide financial leadership to the organization.
DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department
- Oversees training programs and identifies training needs
- Manage the accounting and finance functions of the company
- Implement the financial strategic vision of the Company
- Direct the financial functions of the Company and CEO. (Accounting, budgets, credits, tax returns, bonding and insurance, and governmental agency reports)
- Analyze the company’s financial strengths / weaknesses. Implement corrective actions as deemed necessary
- Execute multiple high impact initiatives to achieve overall company goals
- Work with the executive management team to coordinate and establish priorities for the company’s finances
- Research financial opportunities for business expansion
- Identify and address potential financial risks for the company
- Coordinate with the operations team to review project by project analysis (budget to actual, etc.)
- Manage and lead the accounting function of the Company and evaluate the performance of the staff
- Develop annual and monthly operating and capital budgets, cash flow projections and budget to actual analysis
- Produce financial forecasts and execute the financial strategic plans of the company
- Promote efficient business operations with insightful analysis, clear reporting, and professional advice to enhance the overall performance and goals
- Serve as a corporate resource for banks, CPA firms, bonding company, insurance brokers and other related groups
- Other duties as directed by the CEO
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related financial field
- Certified Public Accountant is preferred
- Extensive experience and knowledge of accounting in the construction industry
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial management role
- Advanced knowledge and skills for financial modeling and forecasting
- Knowledgeable in GAAP construction accounting, sales tax, insurance, bonding and other related reporting.
- Software proficiency in Vista viewpoint is preferred
- High degree of personal integrity and confidentiality
- Ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels and management
- Must have capability to make decisions, evaluate issues, and provide a solution
- Must be able to complete drug test and background check
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization
- Ability to direct and oversee multiple projects
- Ability to train and positively influence the work of others
- Consistent and stable work history
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
